Where Has the Summer Gone? A Look Back at an Incredible Season!

It is hard to believe September is already here! While the kids are heading back to the classroom, the weather in Munds Park still feels like summer, and the recent rain has left everything looking beautifully green. We hope you are all getting outside to enjoy this gorgeous weather and our remaining time together in the park.

August was an absolute whirlwind of fun, starting with our annual Cabaret Nights and Readers Theater. Approximately 25 actors and actresses took over the Northern Air room at the Pinewood Country Club to deliver eight clever skits and two musical performances. Over 140 audience members—including our fantastic local Pinewood Fire Department—joined us for an evening filled with laughter and applause.

General Meeting & Big Celebrations We held our second general meeting on Saturday, August 22, at the Playhouse. The financial report brought excellent news, showing a highly successful season for our productions, scholarship fund, and general fund. We also took time to review our recent events and look ahead to our exciting plans for the 2027 season.

One of the highlights of the meeting was the awarding of four youth scholarships. Please join us in congratulating this year's well-deserving recipients: Gavin Craig, Lennon DiCello, Kyle Jones, and Sophia Sima!

Additionally, we presented the Unsung Hero Award to board member Fred Lloyd for his exceptional dedication.

We also finalized our board elections for terms beginning this September. Please join us in welcoming our four newly elected board members: Claire Dishlip, Lu Cross, Shirlee Huston, and Gary Sima!

It’s a Wrap! We officially closed out the 2026 season on August 26 with our annual "It’s a Wrap" party on the Playhouse patio. Fifty-two Pinewood Players members gathered to celebrate. Retiring board member Jim Junker served as our ultimate Grill Master, while Fred Lloyd provided the perfect soundtrack for the evening.

A Heartfelt Thank You An incredible season like this is only possible because of you. Thank you to everyone who became a member, attended our shows, or volunteered their time building sets, working backstage, and running lights and sound.

Finally, a massive thank you to our generous donors. Your support keeps the Pinewood Players alive in the Munds Park community. Because of you, we can offer scholarships to bright young talent and provide high-quality musical theater experiences on a stage equipped with modern sound and lighting. You give both Pinewood Country Club and Pinewood Players members a vibrant venue to learn, practice, and share their artistic skills.
